USA Rail is led by rail veterans with over 125 years combined experience in the rail industry.

Chad Womack

Director of Business Development

Chad joined USA Rail with 12 years of rail industry experience. He has a passion for the supply chain, with a focus in rail related services. During his years in rail, he has predominantly been in business development while assisting with operations and supervision. Chad managed rail services across the nation, including sales and marketing, new business start-ups, and account management to ensure his customers receive the highest level of customer service. He has managed hundreds of rail contracts, including railcar storage, transloading, in-plant switching, terminal operations and more. Chad prides himself in making sure all customers are taken care of in a timely manner with safety, efficiency and communication as his top priorities.

Chad participates in numerous boards, committees, and organizations, and holds a Bachelor of Communications degree from Lamar University.

John “Glenn” Bulanek

Regional Vice President of Operations

Glenn joined USA Rail Terminals in April 2022. He serves as the Regional Vice President leading the operating department on safety, organizational management, customer service, and infrastructure maintenance and improvements. Additionally, Glenn works closely with USA Rail’s marketing team to develop rail solutions for customers and to maximize growth.

Glenn brings over 30 years in the rail industry and has a proven track record of delivering safe, efficient, and reliable operations under his management. During his career, he worked for the Union Pacific where he managed several corridors throughout the Southern Region. He spent the last 10 years of his career as Senior Manager of Terminal Operations overseeing Union Pacific’s Beaumont, Port Arthur, and Orange territories.

Glenn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from American Intercontinental University.

Jennifer Waller

Senior Director of Finance and FP&A

Jennifer is the Senior Director of Finance and FP&A at Alpenglow Rail and has over 20 years of finance and accounting experience across public and private companies in the energy and transportation sectors. Most recently, she served as Senior Director of Financial Reporting, Investor Relations, and FP&A at USD Group, where she partnered with the CFO and senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis, while overseeing financial reporting across multiple public and private entities.

Prior to USD Group, Jennifer spent a decade at Enbridge Energy Partners in progressive roles spanning SEC reporting, internal audit, investor relations, and liquids pipeline accounting, and began her career at Deloitte. Jennifer received her Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Sam Houston State University and is a Certified Public Accountant

Dan Rawls

Senior Terminal Manager

Dan joined USA Rail Terminals in April 2022. He serves as the Senior Terminal Manager, overseeing safety, rail operations, and supporting commercial growth for the company. Dan is a seasoned rail veteran with over 13 years’ experience in both rail operations and commercial growth.

Dan’s prior experience includes five years with BNSF as a Locomotive Engineer, along with holding roles such as Director of Logistics, Yardmaster, Designated Supervisor of Locomotive Engineers (DSLE), Train Master, and Conductor with multiple shortline rail companies. He is experienced in the development and implementation of FRA qualifications, testing, and compliance for locomotive engineers.

Dan prides himself on safety, compliance, and customer service, and brings a unique combination of operations and commercial expertise to the team.

James “J.J.” Lund, Jr.

Director of Projects and Planning

J.J. is primarily responsible for the budgeting, design, engineering, compliance, procurement, and construction of USA Rail’s expansion projects. His primary focus is ensuring that capital projects are performed safely and with the needs of our operations, investors, and customers in mind. J.J. has spent the last 12 years managing various trades of railroad construction including civil, track, and engineering.

J.J. comes to USA Rail from LJA Engineering where he managed construction projects and developed business plans for investors used in viability analysis of several key projects. He also served as a member of the board of directors for SWARS (Southwest Association of Rail Shippers.

J.J. received an MBA from Texas A&M University and a BA in business from Sam Houston State University.

Jonathan Taylor

Director of Systems Management

Jonathan brings over 13 years of rail industry experience to USA Rail Terminals. He began his rail career in 2013 as a Conductor and later advanced to Locomotive Engineer, Assistant Terminal Manager, Terminal Manager, and now Director of Systems Management. His background gives him direct experience in field operations, terminal leadership, customer service, railcar movement, and the daily systems needed to support safe and efficient terminal performance.

In his current role, Jonathan supports USA Rail Terminals through operational reporting, billing review, railcar visibility, data management, and process improvement across multiple terminal locations. He works closely with operations, finance, and commercial teams to strengthen internal systems, improve workflow efficiency, and provide clearer visibility into railcar activity and terminal performance.

Jonathan takes pride in building practical, accurate, and reliable systems that support safe operations, better communication, and stronger accountability. His focus is on helping USA Rail Terminals continue to grow while giving customers and internal teams the information they need to make timely, informed decisions.

Brandon Brown

Terminal Operations Manager

Brandon Brown brings more than 15 years of experience in the rail industry, with a strong background in terminal operations, rail logistics, customer service, and operational leadership.

As Terminal Operations Manager for USA Rail Terminals in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Brandon oversees daily rail operations, transloading activities, railcar movement, crew management, customer relations, and facility operations across a large industrial rail terminal. His experience includes managing rail yard efficiency, locomotive operations, infrastructure maintenance, safety compliance, and customer-focused rail solutions.

Brandon is known for his hands-on leadership style and commitment to safety, efficiency, and operational excellence. He works closely with customers and operations teams to ensure dependable service while continuously improving terminal performance and day-to-day operations. Brandon takes pride in building strong teams and maintaining a safe and professional work environment while delivering reliable rail service.

USA Rail is fully owned by Alpenglow Rail and is supported by the Alpenglow Rail executive leadership team.

Rich Montgomery

CEO

Rich Montgomery is a Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Alpenglow Rail, where he leads the company’s growth strategy, acquisitions, and infrastructure investments across North America. With more than 25 years of executive leadership experience spanning transportation, real estate, and industrial development, he has built a career focused on developing businesses, executing complex transactions, and creating long-term value through disciplined growth and operational excellence.

Prior to co-founding Alpenglow Rail, Montgomery spent a decade as Senior Vice President of OmniTRAX and The Broe Group, one of North America’s largest shortline railroad, real estate, and energy holding companies. In that role, he led business development and industrial site selection efforts across the company’s rail and industrial park network, helping attract and develop major customer facilities for companies including Anheuser-Busch, Cargill, Halliburton, and Vestas.

Over the course of his career, Montgomery has managed businesses and assets with a combined value exceeding $4.5 billion, led the acquisition and disposition of more than $800 million in transportation and real estate businesses, and directed the development of nearly 10,000 acres of industrial and commercial property. His experience spans strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure development, and operational leadership, with a consistent focus on creating sustainable value for investors customers, and stakeholders.
Montgomery began his career in commercial real estate, an experience that continues to influence his approach to infrastructure investment, capital allocation, and customer-focused growth strategies.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance, with an emphasis in Real Estate, from San Diego State University.

Josh Huster

CSO

Josh is a Partner and the Chief Strategy Officer of Alpenglow Rail. Josh has over 10 years’ experience in strategy, corporate development, and investments primarily focused in shortline rail.

Prior to Alpenglow, Josh was Director at OmniTRAX / The Broe Group where he developed and executed growth initiatives, sourced and executed investment opportunities, and built and led its research & analysis capability central to the company’s strategic planning and growth. Josh started his career in wealth management, providing asset management and financial planning to high net worth individuals and businesses.

Josh received his Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in finance and entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado.

Kyle Schornick

CFO

Kyle is the Chief Financial Officer of Alpenglow Rail. Kyle brings over 10 years of finance experience spanning capital markets, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Alpenglow, Kyle spent nearly a decade at USD Group, where he served as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing corporate finance, financial planning, treasury, capital markets, accounting, and investor relations. In earlier roles at USD Group, Kyle led company growth as VP of Finance and Director of Acquisitions and Corporate Development.

Kyle began his career in capital markets, first as an Equity Research Associate at Raymond James and then as an Investment Banking Associate at Macquarie Capital. Kyle actively serves as a board member for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for South Houston. Kyle received his BBA in finance from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business, along with a BA in economics.
